CHRISTMAS CRAFTS AND GIFTS

Let´s welcome Chrismtas making these gifts and decorations for the classroom and the children´s homes. Here follow several ideas you can carry out along with the children on this special date.

-Christmas tree poster.

Materials needed: a sheet of recycled paper (you may crumple a piece of cardstock, crease or wad it and then flatten it out again. The children will love to do it!); green cardboard squares and the same quantity of red rattail satin cord; a star; a length of ribbon, some glue.

Have the children make the tree pasting the green squares on the sheet of paper. Ask them to decorate each square with lengths of red rattail satin cord. Add the start on top and a bow at the bottom.

Once finished, hang the poster on the wall or on the entrance door of the classroom.

-Chrismtas tree souvenirs.

Materiales needed: cardboard cylinders, green cardboard, fishing the line, glue and scissors.

Open the two slots on the sides ot the cylinders to fix Christmas tree made of green cardboard. You may open a circle in the centre of the tree to hang a star using a little piece of fishing line. You can paste a rectangle on the cylinder to write the name of each student on.

-Christmas tree decorations.

Material needed: empty jelly bags, cotton or sweets, pieces of white paper, markers, coloured pencils, red bows, masking tape, plastic bag fasteners, and glue.

Ask the children to fill the jelly bags with cotton or sweets. Seal them with a piece of masking tape. Have them draw Father Chrismtas on a piece of paper and colour it using markers and coloured pencils. Help them to paste ir on the jelly bags, add the red bow and add plastic bag fastener to hang as a decoration on the tree at home.

-Colourful tablecloth.

Materials needed: gusset, boys and girls´cutouts and glue.

This tablecloth will be useful to dress the table at the end of the year celebrations. Make it using a big piece of gusset of the dimensions of your table.
You may add some coulour with drops of food colouring. Ask the children to glue the girl and boy cutouts around it. It will look very nice on your Christmas celebration just before hollidays begin.

-Sweet boxes.

Materials needed: cardboard chilp containers, match boxes, lots of sweets, coloured napkins, paint and markers.

Distribute the containers among the children for them to paint them. In case you use a match boxes do not forget to glue a piece of cardboard to close one of the openings. Ask them to add decorations related to holidays. One finished, fill it up with sweets and give them as souvenirs to take home after the end or the year party.

-Cute kindergarteners.

Make some cute kindergartener puppets to five children as a souvenir. Cut out some construction paper figures, decorate and draw their features and stick them on painted cardboard rolls. Finally, insert some wire on the top.
